Commanders Coach Takes Blame for Keeping Jayden Daniels in Contest Prior to Serious Harm

Washington Commanders leader Coach Quinn has stated he shares some the blame for a major injury to the squad’s signal-caller, Jayden Daniels.

Details of the Harm and Situation

Jayden Daniels, who enjoyed one of the greatest rookie campaigns in history the previous year, sustained a dislocated left elbow in Sunday’s defeat to the Seahawks. Even though Daniels throws with his right arm, the issue has placed his campaign uncertain. The injury was significant enough that the TV coverage did not show repeats and several players turned away as Daniels was attended to by team doctors.

Criticism and Coach’s Response

Quinn came under scrutiny as numerous believed Daniels should not have been on the playing surface to begin with. The injury happened in the fourth quarter with the Commanders trailing 38-7, rendering a recovery unlikely. It is typical in such situations for teams to insert their reserve QB to avoid injuries to their starter.

“I get that. I’ve been thinking about it constantly, too, and, man, I erred,” he said of his choice to leave Daniels in the match. “That is 100% on me.”

Aftermath and Squad Outlook

Mariota will be the Commanders’ primary QB from now on, but he will guide a team in disarray. Following reaching the conference title game the prior year thanks to the rookie’s brilliance, the team have faced difficulties this season. They also saw injuries to cornerback Marshon Lattimore (torn ACL) and pass-catcher Luke McCaffrey (collarbone fracture) on game day, and have a number of other key players on the injury list. The Washington squad are 3-6 on the season, and it would take a massive reversal for the club to make the postseason.
